Esha Deol Discusses Strict Upbringing
Esha revealed that convincing her father to let her enter the film industry was challenging. “He didn’t want me to go into movies. He is a bit orthodox, rightfully so,” Esha said. She also mentioned that she would sometimes lie to her parents to go out at night during her rebellious phase.
Esha grew up with her mother, Hema Malini, who influenced her desire to become an actress. Despite her father’s opposition and the strict rules of her maternal grandmother—who disapproved of short skirts, spaghetti tops, and late nights—Esha was determined to follow her own path.
She also shared how her grandmother enforced strict rules at home. “We were not allowed to wear spaghetti tops or short skirts and go out late,” Esha said. Despite the rules, she enjoyed her rebellious moments and managed to find her own way.
Esha Deol gained fame with her performance in the song “Dhoom Machale” from the film Dhoom (2004). Although she faced challenges with her subsequent films, she made a comeback with her latest appearance in Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega.
