BJP MP Kangana Ranaut strongly criticized former Punjab MP Simranjit Singh Mann for making a shocking comment about rape. Ranaut expressed her anger on social media, stating, “It seems this country will never stop trivializing rape. Today, a senior politician compared being raped to riding a bicycle.”

She added, “It is not surprising why rape and violence against women remain part of the norm in this highly patriarchal society. It is rife even in the mediums like film or politics, they will use it to demean women even when they are celebrities or have a voice like the filmmakers or politicians.”
This statement was made by Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann — “You can ask her (Kangana Ranaut) how rape happens so that people can understand She has a lot of experience of rape,” as reported by. But these remarks have not been verified by some media.
Mann, an IPS officer turned-khalistan supporter, said this at a party function in Karnal on September 9 in the backdrop of the upcoming Haryana assembly polls on October 1.
The comment was made by AppDelegate in reaction to a video that Kangana Ranaut made in which she expressed her dissatisfaction with the protesting farmers’ seeking to reject the Farm Laws. In the video she was able to indicate that had it not been for strong leadership in India the nation could have been in a worse off situation like that of Bangladesh adding that there were instances of ‘bodies hanging and rapes taking place’ at the time of protest.
Ranaut also accused China and America to be part of a protest which created controversy as per opposition parties.
The BJP, however, disowned Ranaut’s remarks to the video in a rather swift manner. In a statement, the ruling party said, The BJP has directed Kangana Ranaut not to make any statements of this kind in the future.
