Justin Baldoni Surprised by Reynolds’ Contribution
According to sources interviewed by Variety, Justin Baldoni said that he thought that the famous scene on the roof was created by Lively himself or was added somewhere. As highlighted by the source it is quite hard for a director to be oblivious of such contributions by other writers or actors on the project.
Other screenwriter for It Ends With Us, Christina Hall bubbled with disbelief when informed about Reynolds’ participation. Hall had basically assumed that some scenes, such as the one with Maraschino cherries, were invented by the cast and crew. She commended Reynolds’ performances with the exception of noticing that the flow of the movie had changed slightly, she had a feeling that those changes were done during the shooting and not via a new screen-writer.
The movie in question possesses a memorable rooftop scene into which the film is based on Colleen Hoover’s successful novel of 2016. The book that became very popular on social media like BookTok and Bookstagram follows the life of Lily Bloom, who is portrayed by Blake Lively who falls in a complicated love affair with a neurosurgeon, as played by Baldoni. When the two’s relationship becomes sour, Lily’s past lover, Atlas Corrigan comes back into her life.
The next book is called It Starts With Us and the story goes on, as for the movie there is still a possibility to have a sequel. But according to some sources, Lively and Justin Baldoni will not be working together again and this poses a problem for a sequel.
