Music Video Details Sabrina Carpenter’s
While in “Taste,” Sabrina Carpenter tries to seduce Ortega partly with the intention of killing her in a number of extreme scenes of physical violence. The made-for-internet video is chock full of amusing cameos and is set up like the fight scenes in such movies as, Death Becomes Her and Kill Bill. Carpenter is spotted placing the weapons and pulling a gun with which to shoot the now armed Ortega.
In the beginning of the video Sabrina Carpenter intends to launch an attack on Ortega but unexpectedly she stabs a dummy. Ortega then appears, pointing a gun at Carpenter, with the song’s lyrics playing in the background: “Heard you’re back together and if that’s true. You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissing you. ”
In the course of the tape, Sabrina Carpenter and Ortega fight; Sabrina Carpenter is repeatedly stabbed, burned and wounded. Ortega also fleshes it, having her eye pierced and the other bones in her body fractured. The high levels of violence used in the video make it more interesting and make the audience remain alert.
Unexpected Twist
The climax of the video presents a surprising twist: Ortega is also depicted to shoot dead the ex-boyfriend by accident which indicates that he is at least partly to be held responsible for the conflict. The two women interact during the funeral, each get to know that the other was once involved with him and they both agree that he had some unpleasant drawbacks, for instance, he was insecure. This makes it possible to have a twist that will be humorous and bring a close to the otherwise bitter rivalry.
Album and Reception
The song was released as the third single from Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet. The album is a successor to her prior release, Emails I Can’t Send, and maintains her musical focus on pop and personal topics. Other singles that have already been released from the album, for instance, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” have already set the church on rampage making Carpenter a prominent icon with skyrocketing success.
