The much-awaited horror-comedy movie Stree 2 is all set to hit the big screens soon. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, the movie is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, which was a significant success and laid the foundation for Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Maddock Films, Stree 2 continues the unique blend of horror and humor that made the first movie so popular.

Censorship and Certification
Both the versions of the film namely Stree 2 has undergone censor certification and the CBFC has certified the picture ‘U/A’. This implies that the movie is safe for all the age groups, but it is recommended that children under age 12 should be accompanied by their parents. Karan Johar and the makers of Stree 2 can heave a sigh of relief since the board did not ask for shooting modifications, and the vision of the film remained mostly unscathed. However, the CBCF demanded changes in two more episodes in the audio segment with no physical distortion of the characters.
Requested Changes by the CBFC
From findings it can be noted that the CBFC’s Examine Committee (EC) pointed out two aspects of the movie that required change. These changes were connected to some celebrities and a national monument referred to in the text. Despite the fact that some of the indicators were not exclusively directed at students, the committee deemed it fit to come up with more appropriate terms. Hence, the filmmakers were requested to remove the names of the celebrities and censor the name of the national monument in the soundtrack.
These changes were affected and thereafter, the CBFC passed the film with U/A certificate. Succinctly, the board did not need many changes to the action, intimate, or horror scenes, so the basis of the film is preserved.
Movie Duration and Release Facts
The total duration of Stree 2 is 149 min 29 sec which can also be approximately calculated to 2 hours 29 minutes and 9 seconds. The viewers also get enough time to digest the elaboration of the story line from the first part filled with more scream and comedy.
As the release date approaches, the excitement among fans is growing. Limited advance bookings for Stree 2 have already begun, with full-fledged pre-sale expected to open soon. The movie is scheduled for night shows on August 14, a day before its official release on August 15, 2024.
Box Office Clash and Expectations
Stree 2 will be hitting the theaters at the same time as other two big films Khel Khel Mein starring Akshay Kumar and Vedaa starring John Abraham. This creates the immediate opportunity of what could be a box office battle between all three flicks as they try to capture the attention of the public. It has now become clear that, because of the success of the first part of Stree, along with the stardom of the cast, Stree 2 can open on a very good business.
The Future of the Horror Comedy Universe
In.a recent event of Pinkvilla Masterclass, the lead actors of Stree2, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor discussed the possible future of Horror Comedy Universe. They even suggested the prospects of creating a movie that would combine pictures involving characters from Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya, which is another movie in that course. Rajkummar Rao tried to support this idea with the rather unexpected comparison to the Marvel Cinematic Universe saying that he sees himself as Iron Man, though the main villain, similar to Thanos, should be played by Aparshakt Jain, while Shraddha Kapoor could be compared to Black Widow.
