Fans of Pixar and the superhero family, the Incredibles, have something exciting to look forward to. At the D23 Expo 2024, it was officially announced that Incredibles 3 is in the works. This news has thrilled many who have been eagerly waiting for another installment in the beloved franchise.

The Big Announcement
The revelation was made on the 9th of August, 2024 during Disney’s annual conference referred to as the D23 Expo. Pixar During the D23 Expo that took place when Pixar was being celebrated, their head, Pete Docter, came to the stage to announce that a third film in the Incredibles series is in production. While details about the film are still scarce, one major piece of information has fans buzzing: It is to mention that Brad Bird, the man who directed and wrote the first two movies of the Incredibles series, is the man behind the third movie too.
A Look Back at the Franchise
Originally, the first movie based on the Incredibles theme was produced in 2004 and enjoyed great popularity with spectators. It welcomed people to the family of Parr; Mr. Amazing, Margo and Elastigirl, and their three kids, Dash, Violet and Jack-Jack. People appreciated the setting of the movie with action and bright humor and the combination of scenes that showed family values. It grossed over $630 million at the international box office.
Pixar The sequel, Incredibles 2, came out in 2018, a full 14 years after the original. Despite the long gap, the movie picked up right where the first one left off, with Elastigirl stepping into the spotlight to bring superheroes back into the public’s good graces. The film was a huge success, grossing $1.24 billion worldwide, making it one of Pixar’s highest-grossing films until it was surpassed by Inside Out 2.
What We Know About Incredibles 3
While knowing that there will be an Incredibles 3 is refreshing, there are many things about it that are still unanswered. To this date there is no release date and no information about the plot and the cast has not been disclosed. Even so, Brad Bird is back as director so this means that it will be as good as the previous two films people love so much.
The Original Cast
In the previous films, the voice cast included Craig T. Nelson as Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter as Elastigirl, Sarah Vowell as Violet, and Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone. Director Brad Bird also voiced the iconic character Edna Mode, the superhero fashion designer. It’s unclear if all of the original voice actors will return for the third film, but fans are hopeful that the familiar voices will be back to bring the Parr family to life once again.
