In the episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which aired on 22 July, the new character of Jomol aka Komal came in presence with Hansraj Hathi and decided to distribute the Banarasi breakfast for all the members of Gokuldham Society. Thus, Komal and Hathi introduced the episode and invited Taarak and Anjali Mehta to the breakfast event. They then headed outside, and as they were walking out they saw Babita and Iyer coming on their cycles from the society gate.
Thus, Komal and Hathi extended an invitation to Babita and Iyer to sit with them to eat the Banaras breakfast. Saying that she wished to read the recipes for idli sambar, Babita was eager for the new Banarasi sweet shop which had recently opened nearby. Goli had gone there to have Kachori rabdi and Jalebi for breakfast. Babita and Iyer said thanks to them for the invitation.
Jethalal’s Sunday Breakfast Disrupted
Next the Hathi family proceeded to Jethalal’s house. Bapuji and Jethalal were particularly looking forward to their Sunday breakfast of jalebi and fafda. They argued as to who would get the first bite of the fafda and Tapu proposed to click a picture with the fafda. Ow, just at the right time came Komal and Hathi and interfered with their actions.

They also called Shrimati Tulsi Mehta and her family for the Banarasi breakfast along with Jethalal. Banter was created when Jethalal proposed that Gopu could first enjoy the jalebi fafda and then the Banarasi breakfast, but Hathi said they can’t enjoy the Banarasi breakfast if they eat both. To be certain of this, Komal requested Tapu to pack all the jalebi fafda and she took them away.
Salty Thalipeeth at Bhide’s House
The Hathis then rushed to Bhide’s house, where he was expecting to have thalipeeth for his breakfast prepared by Sonu and Madhavi. When Bhide tasted it, he found it too salty because Madhavi as well as Sonu, separately put salt in it. Komal and Hathi flew in just in time so that they were able to prevent Bhide from overindulging on his food. They had Bhide and his family for the Banarasi breakfast, and soon left for Sodhi’s house.
Debate Over Breakfast at Sodhi’s House
Roshan and Sodhi were disputing over what to eat – Parsi or Punjabi breakfast when Komal and Hathi came in. They informed that both will not be available as they planned to have Banaras style breakfast at Hathi’s residence. Thus Sodhi blessed Hathi for always providing the best of foods and Hathi teases Sodhi by saying that he is expert in serving drinks. Just to reassure Roshan, Komal and Hathi were quick to explain that what they referred to as lassi, was the sweet version.
Popatlal’s Hearing Problem
Last but not the least, Komal and Hathi went to invite Popatlal, but the door of his house was tightly closed. Popatlal thought of the name of his friend and called Hathi and requested him to open the door but Hathi thought that Popatlal was inside the house. Popatlal asked what they wanted in his house, they said that they came to do some work. Popatlal could partly understand them because he had come to Hathi’s house for an ear check up. The episode ended here.
