But even a grey, rainy Tuesday in Manhattan couldn't dampen Lea Michele's celebration as the former "Glee" star made her much awaited premiere in the Broadway version of "Funny Girl.

The August Wilson Theatre audience erupted in applause as soon as Michele stepped onto the stage, drowning out the show's iconic first line, "Hello, gorgeous," before she could sing a note in her crystal-clear soprano.
