Salim Merchant recalls composing and producing the music for the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Surinder and Taani’s awe-inspiring love story in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi became sweet, colorful, and funny.The film’s track album became an instant hit thanks to the musician duo Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant.The song “Dance Pe Chance,” among others, piqued a lot of interest.
The Merchant brothers discussed their journey in making the movie’s soundtrack album during a song room conversation with ABC.Interestingly, Sulaiman explained how seamlessly integrating songs is made possible by a well-written script.As the conversation progressed, Salim were given a nostalgic memory of sitting with Aditya Chopra, the movie’s producer, for the briefing of the track “Dance Pe Chance.
” They also talked about how they used dialogues from the movie to create “Haula Haule” and “Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte.”Aditya told us that “Dance Pe Chance” was like teaching a child to dance, he said.It started when he instructed us to “put your left leg out, insert your left leg, and shake it all about.”So, it started there, and when I felt love, it just happened like this melody did.
He ended by announcing that they had written “Dance Pe Chance” in a day or two.In the meantime, it took some time to write “Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte.”In addition to this, Sulaiman stated that considering they were writing and producing the song.Accordingly, the total interaction become hard for them.
