David Parton, the brother of famous country singer Dolly Parton, passed away at the age of 82 on November 15, 2024. His death occurred peacefully at his home in White Pine, Tennessee. David Parton was the second oldest of 12 siblings in the Parton family, which includes Dolly and her other brothers and sisters: Stella, Willadeene, Coy, Robert Jr., Cassie, Freida, and Rachel. Sadly, three of the Parton siblings, Randy, Larry, and Floyd, have already passed away.

Stella Parton, David’s sister, shared the news of his passing on social media. She wrote, “My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, but he got his angel wings and is now at peace.” She also posted on Facebook, expressing her love and sorrow, saying, “RIP dear soul. Love you forever.”

David had a successful career as a bridge builder superintendent with Simpson Construction. He worked on many important bridges in the Kingsport, Johnson City, and Knoxville areas. His obituary mentioned that he was a dedicated family man, survived by his wife of 45 years, Kay, and children, including a son named Lucas, and daughters Donna and Dena. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David’s funeral will be held on November 19, 2024. He will be remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and his place in the large, close-knit Parton family. His passing is a loss to many, especially his sister Dolly, who has always been open about the importance of family in her life.
