Super/Man and Will & Harper Win Best Documentary Feature at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards

At the 2024 Critics Choice Documentary Awards (CCDA) on November 10, the film Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story and Will & Harper tied for Best Documentary Feature. Super/Man was a standout, winning all six awards it was nominated for, including Best Director, Best Editing, Best Score, and Best Archival Documentary.

2024 Critics Choice Documentary Winners

Super/Man tells the inspiring story of Christopher Reeve, the actor best known for playing Superman. The documentary covers his rise to fame, his life-changing horse-riding accident, and his dedication to disability rights after the accident left him paralyzed.

On the other hand, Will & Harper, which also tied for Best Documentary Feature, is a heartwarming story available on Netflix.

2024 Critics Choice Other notable winners included Simone Biles Rising, which took home two awards, including Best Sports Documentary. The Last of the Sea Women won Best Cinematography, and Sugarcane won several awards, including Best Political Documentary.

2024 Critics Choice Rory Kennedy, a well-known filmmaker, received the Pennebaker Award, named in honor of D.A. Pennebaker, a celebrated documentary filmmaker.

The event was hosted by actor Erich Bergen at the Edison Ballroom in New York and was streamed online for audiences around the world.
