Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, visited the holy temples of Kedarnath and Badrinath on October 20, 2024. These temples, located in the state of Uttarakhand, hold great religious significance for Hindus and attract millions of devotees from India and abroad every year. During his visit, Ambani generously donated 5 crore rupees to support the temples.

Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the most revered shrines in Hinduism. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, with Kedarnath being the eleventh. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple remains open only from April to November. The temple is situated at a high altitude, requiring devotees to undertake a 16-kilometer trek to reach it.

Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand along the banks of the Alaknanda River. It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus, with a history dating back to the 7th-8th century. Due to its geographic location, the temple is also only open for a limited time, from the end of April to the beginning of November.
For those planning to visit, multiple routes exist to access both temples. Kedarnath is accessible via a trek from Gaurikund, which can be reached by road from Haridwar, Rishikesh, or Dehradun. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun, located about 239 kilometers away.
Badrinath, on the other hand, can be accessed by road from cities like Delhi, Haridwar, and Rishikesh, passing through various towns such as Devprayag and Joshimath. The nearest airport to Badrinath is also Jolly Grant, at a distance of 314 kilometers. The closest railway station is in Rishikesh, about 295 kilometers from the temple.
