Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui is in the news for receiving threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Reports say that this gang had plans to target him in New Delhi last month.

Munawar Faruqui Receives Threats

Due to these serious threats, the Mumbai Police have increased Munawar’s security. A police officer confirmed that they are now providing him protection. Although the threats are not officially linked to the Bishnoi gang, there are concerns that they may be involved.

In September, Munawar was in Delhi to attend an event. He was alerted by the Delhi Police Special Cell about a possible attack and returned to Mumbai under police protection. Reports state that gang members had even booked a room in the hotel where he was staying.

The threats against Munawar came to light during an investigation into the murder of Nadir Shah, a businessman from Delhi. An arrested shooter revealed that the gang was watching Munawar at a hotel, intending to attack him.

As a precaution, Munawar’s security measures have been enhanced, and he is currently taking steps to ensure his safety.

For context, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been in the news recently for other violent incidents, including the murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister.
