Apple is gearing up to launch the new iPad Mini 7 this month, and tech enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see what upgrades it will bring. After the successful release of the iPhone 16 series last month, Apple is expected to announce more hardware products in its October event, which may include updates to the iPad Mini and entry-level iPads.
Apple iPad Mini 7 Launch
According to reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s October event might take place on October 28. However, the company has not confirmed the exact date yet. During this event, Apple could reveal the 7th generation iPad Mini alongside the 11th generation of its standard iPad model.

The iPad Mini 7 is expected to retain its 8.3-inch display and follow the same design as the previous generation. However, Apple might make a small change to address a common issue known as “jelly scrolling.” This problem causes a lag when scrolling vertically in portrait mode. By adjusting the screen assembly, the iPad Mini 7 could offer smoother scrolling, enhancing the overall user experience.
Unlike the iPad Pro and iPad Air, which use the powerful M-series chips, the iPad Mini 7 is likely to stick with the A-series chips. It could either feature the A17 Pro chip from the iPhone 15 Pro or the newer A18 chip from the iPhone 16 series. This ensures good performance while keeping the device affordable.
No major design changes are expected, but Apple might introduce new color options. The iPad Mini 7 could adopt the iPad Air’s color palette, with new shades like blue and the removal of pink. Space grey, starlight, and purple colors are expected to remain.
Apple is likely to move the front-facing camera to the landscape edge, making it more convenient for video calls, similar to what they did with the latest iPad Air. This would improve the experience for users who frequently use FaceTime or Zoom in landscape mode. Additionally, the camera may support HDR 4, offering better contrast and color accuracy.
The iPad Mini 7 is expected to support the advanced Apple Pencil Pro. This new Pencil version includes features like squeeze gestures, haptic feedback, and hover functionality, which would be great for digital artists and professionals who need precise controls.
The starting price for the iPad Mini 7 is expected to remain at $499. For Indian customers, it could be priced around ₹45,900. Additionally, the base storage might be upgraded to 128GB, doubling the capacity without a price increase, making it a better value option.
