Billie Eilish Opens Up About Ongoing Pain Struggles and Relationship with Her Body

In a recent interview with Vogue, Billie Eilish shared her ongoing struggles with physical pain and how it has affected her life. The 22-year-old singer, known for her hit song “Bad Guy,” revealed that she has been dealing with pain since she was just 9 years old due to a condition called hypermobility. This means her joints stretch further than usual, leading to constant discomfort.

Eilish described feeling like she is in a “constant war” with her body. She shared that many people told her the pain would get worse as she grew older, which made her feel angry. She recalled, “I’ve basically been in pain since I was 9.” Despite the challenges, she has tried to push through the pain while performing.

Eilish also talked about the isolation she sometimes felt while on tour, saying, “I’ve had some really dark times on tour.” She realized that being a performer in front of thousands of fans can feel lonely, and she often thought that this difficult time would eventually pass.

However, Eilish is now working on changing her perspective. She wants to enjoy her performances and daily life more. She stated, “I was very lonely for many years, and I’m not interested in that anymore.” Her goal is to find joy in her work and in the moments outside of her career.

This isn’t the first time Eilish has opened up about her struggles. Earlier this year, she discussed her battles with depression in an interview with Rolling Stone. She described herself as someone who could find joy despite feeling sad. Eilish recognized that, although she achieved a lot at a young age, she hadn’t truly felt happy for many years.

She also mentioned her desire to reconnect with the happier version of herself from 2019, calling it the “best time” of her life. Her recent album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, has helped her feel more like her younger self, as she searches for that lost joy.

In her conversation with Vogue, Eilish also expressed regret about publicly discussing her dating life and sexuality. She emphasized her desire to keep certain aspects of her life private. Additionally, she reaffirmed her support for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
