Did X-Men 3 Director Quit Because of Halle Berry? The Actress Speaks Out on Hollywood’s "Shady" Side

Halle Berry has never been afraid to speak her mind, especially when it comes to calling out the darker side of Hollywood. Recently, the X-Men actress responded to comments made by X-Men 3 director Matthew Vaughn, who left the franchise under unusual circumstances.

Halle Berry Exposes Hollywood Secrets

Vaughn, who had directed X-Men: First Class, said that he stepped down from directing the third X-Men film after discovering some behind-the-scenes manipulation involving Halle Berry’s character, Storm. According to Vaughn, the studio allegedly sent Berry a fake script that exaggerated her character’s role to convince her to join the project. “If they could do that to an Oscar-winning actress, I knew it was time for me to leave,” Vaughn said in an interview with The Daily Mail.

Halle Berry responded to this claim with an Instagram post, thanking Vaughn for bringing this to light. She wrote, “You never know the shady stuff happening behind your back. Thanks, Matthew Vaughn, for shedding light on it.”

Despite Vaughn’s exit, Berry continued with X-Men 3, where she starred alongside Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen. The film, directed by Brett Ratner, went on to earn over $460 million worldwide.

Currently, Berry is enjoying success with her latest film Never Let Go, a horror suspense story where she plays a mother fighting for survival against a dark force. The film released in theaters on September 20 and will soon be available for streaming on Amazon Prime and Apple TV+ starting October 11.
