Ananya Panday is a rising star in Bollywood, and she is currently promoting her upcoming movie, CTRL. Recently, she shared her thoughts on being compared to well-known actress Alia Bhatt. Many people on social media have called Ananya the “upcoming Alia Bhatt,” but Ananya humbly disagrees.
Ananya Panday Addresses Comparisons
In an interview with Fimygyan, Mod girl Ananya was asked about a recent fan comment where she said she is like the next Alia Bhatt. She was quick to reply with a no and followed it up with, ‘I believe Alia is too good’. What they expected means a lot and while it was a huge compliment, ‘Ever’ is something she has done which he possibly can not do.
Alia Bhatt has really set the Indian film industry on fire and has even starred in a Hollywood movie last year. She has received prizes such as the National Film Award for Best Actress. For his part, Ananya is receiving appreciation for intelligent decisions on her career and performances.

CTRL’s director Vikramaditya Motwane also stood up for Ananya saying that it is a privileged path for her because she is a ‘nepo kid’ which refers to children of celebrities. To him there are two things that determine success in this business, something that only a few know, and those are effort and ability. He said in particular, “If you can’t do a good job, are not talented, lazy and don’t care to show your worth on camera, then nothing else counts.” This is why he encouraged her for determination and skills he identified in her affectionately as Ananya.
Ananya’s new film CTRL is likely to release in theaters on October 4th, 2024, and will have a Netflix release on the same day. Moreover, the movie is dedicated to an important issue of people’s lives, which is the role of technology and social networks. In it, yes she plays a girl who fights between her social media personality or better yet, avatar and her real life one.
The film also has Vihaan Samat in the lead while Nikhil Dwivedi and Arya A. Menon have produced the film. The screenplay is done by Avinash Sampath and Vikramaditya Motwane. Karan Johar’s new project is directed at presenting Ananya Panday in a whole new way and carving her own niche in the industry.
