Sophie Turner Opens Up About Single Motherhood Challenges After Divorce from Joe Jonas

Sophie Turner recently talked about the difficulties of being a single mother after her divorce from Joe Jonas, with whom she shares two daughters, Willa and Delphine. The couple, who were married for four years, announced their divorce in September 2023, stating that it was a mutual decision to end their marriage amicably.

Sophie Turner Discusses Motherhood

When asked in an interview with The Sunday Times how it has been like bringing up her two daughters alone after the divorce Turner said this had been challenging. She said that during the shootings of her new crime drama, Joan, which she stars in, she was in the process of getting a divorce. She said this was the best she could have been cast to play Joan Hannington, a jewel thief where otherwise she would not have been so committed as she was as a mother.

That’s why Turner would like single mothers to find her character identifiable: ‘It is so hard to be a single parent.’ She reiterated the need to teach kids the struggles that parents go through to ensure they provide for them, the embarrassment that is usually associated with motherhood, whether the mother is a working mum or a housewife.

Felshman asserts that the process of filming Joan during this time even gave Twamer strength. She believed that her character allowed her to get through her ambition and the will to fight the odds. She said of her character, she also learned how to do the ring swap in a handbag, and she did this in the comedian manner.

The series Joan that is currently running on ITV is based on the real life story of Joan Hannington, a young woman having a daughter who tries to start a new independent life and get rid of her disastrous man. Another amazing thing about this movie is that Turner’s portrayal of Joan represents who Joan is, both as a mother and as a single mother at that.
