More Than a Store: Yogesh Dhawan’s Vision for Community Takes Shape with Sadar Bazaar and Everise Foundation

Craigieburn, Melbourne: What began as the announcement of a new shopping destination became a powerful story of gratitude, family values and giving back to the community.

At the press conference for sadar bazar by punjab Imports, founder Yogesh Dhawan shared the vision behind the new development, describing it as much more than a retail project. Alongside the grand opening of the new destination at 1/24 Riley Road, Craigieburn on 11 July, Yogesh also announced the launch of the Everise Foundation.

Speaking emotionally about the journey, Yogesh credited his father, family, dedicated team and the community for their unwavering support over the years. One of the most touching moments came when his father became emotional while witnessing the dream become a reality.

According to Yogesh, one of his father’s biggest dreams was that if the community had given them so much, it was their responsibility to give something meaningful back.

That vision has now taken shape through the Everise Foundation, an initiative designed to support newcomers arriving in Melbourne and Australia. The foundation aims to help people settle into their new lives by offering guidance with employment, practical support and assistance during difficult times. The goal is to ensure that newcomers feel welcomed, supported and connected as they begin their journey in Australia.

The new Sadar Bazaar development has also been designed as a destination for families. Visitors can look forward to a dedicated children’s play area, creating a space where families can spend quality time together while shopping and dining.

Adding to the experience, the precinct will feature a variety of food options, including South Indian cuisine, Indian restaurants, a bakery and an ice cream outlet, creating a vibrant space that brings together shopping, food and community under one roof.

During his address, Yogesh made it clear that this is only the beginning. With plans for continued expansion, he shared his vision of growing further while remaining committed to the values that helped build Punjab Imports.

The launch of Sadar Bazaar represents more than business growth. It reflects a commitment to creating opportunities, strengthening community connections and building a place where people can shop, dine, meet and support one another.

As the grand opening approaches on 11 July, excitement continues to build across Melbourne’s Indian community. For Yogesh Dhawan and his family, this milestone is not only about opening new doors for business—it is about opening new doors for the community as well.
