The discussion about age gaps between actors in Bollywood films is growing stronger these days. Recently, actor Akshay Kumar opened up about this topic while talking about his upcoming movie Bhooth Bangla. He will be seen romancing Wamiqa Gabbi, and the difference in their ages has sparked curiosity among viewers.
Akshay Kumar’s Clear Opinion on Age Gap
Akshay Kumar addressed the topic in a simple and direct way. He said that age gaps in films are not something new. According to him, such pairings have existed for years in cinema, and even in real life, couples often have age differences.
He explained that sometimes casting depends on the story. If a script demands a certain pairing, actors are chosen accordingly. Akshay believes that focusing too much on age takes away from the essence of storytelling.
His Experience Working With Wamiqa Gabbi
Talking about his co-star Wamiqa Gabbi, Akshay shared that she is a very dedicated and serious actor. He mentioned that she spends a lot of time reading and rehearsing her scenes. He appreciated her commitment and said that she brings a different working style to the set.
He also compared her with other talented actresses he has worked with, like Tabu and Vidya Balan. Akshay pointed out that every actor has their own unique approach. While some like to rehearse deeply, others prefer to stay spontaneous and free during performances.
Director Priyadarshan’s Take on “Screen Age”
Director Priyadarshan also shared an interesting point in this discussion. He explained the concept of “screen age,” which is different from a person’s real age. According to him, what matters more is how actors look and feel on screen rather than their actual age.

He said that if a pair looks convincing on screen, the audience usually accepts them. For him, casting decisions are more about how the characters fit together rather than focusing only on numbers.
Bhooth Bangla Release and Special Reunion
Bhooth Bangla is creating excitement not just because of its story but also because it marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years. Their last film together was Khatta Meetha (2010).
The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and veteran actor Asrani. It is set to release in theatres on April 10 and is expected to be a fun mix of horror and comedy.
