Actor and singer Amit Jadhav has recently spoken about his concerns regarding the Bollywood film Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri. The movie, which starred Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, was one of the successful Hindi films of 2025.
Amit Jadhav claims that the storyline of Saiyaara closely resembles the plot of his 2019 YouTube short film Khwaabon. He shared his thoughts through a video on Instagram and later explained his concerns during a conversation with a media outlet.
Similar Storyline Between Khwaabon And Saiyaara
Amit explained that both stories revolve around a romantic couple whose life changes after the woman develops memory loss. In his short film Khwaabon, the female character disappears after her condition worsens. The male lead, who is a musician, uses a song to find her again.
He believes the same emotional theme and storytelling style appear in Saiyaara. Because of this, he feels that the film’s story is very close to the concept he created earlier.
Amit Jadhav Says He Tried Contacting The Makers
Amit Jadhav shared that he attempted to contact the team connected with the film to discuss the similarities. He said he had received a message in 2022 from YRF Talent expressing interest in connecting with him.

At that time, he asked them about the reason for the contact but did not receive a clear response. Later, when Saiyaara was released, his friends told him that the film’s story seemed very similar to Khwaabon.
After noticing the similarities, Amit tried reaching out again. He said he sent emails to the concerned team asking for clarification but did not receive any reply.
Emotional Impact On Amit Jadhav
The situation affected Amit emotionally because he had been trying to expand his short film into a full-length feature project. He explained that he had been developing the idea and had even begun discussions with producers to make a larger film.
However, after Saiyaara’s release, he felt that his project lost its direction. Amit said the situation caused him stress and disappointment as he had worked hard on the story.
He also revealed that during that period he faced a difficult emotional phase but eventually focused on moving forward with his career.
What Amit Jadhav Wants From The Makers
Amit Jadhav clarified that he is not asking for legal action or major compensation. Instead, he wants recognition for his original idea.
He said that receiving acknowledgement or some form of credit for the concept would mean a lot to him. He also mentioned that he would appreciate an opportunity to work with the filmmakers in a future project.
For now, the makers of Saiyaara, including director Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films, have not shared any official response to Amit Jadhav’s claims.
