Krishna Shroff, daughter of Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, recently spoke about her parents’ early life during an episode of the reality show The 50. While talking about her family, Krishna shared a personal story about her mother Ayesha Shroff and the sacrifices she made during Jackie Shroff’s struggling days.
Krishna explained that her parents built their life together long before fame and success came into their lives. Their story began in very simple circumstances, far away from the glamour often associated with the film industry.
Ayesha Shroff Left a Comfortable Life for Jackie Shroff
During the conversation on the show, Krishna revealed that Ayesha Shroff grew up in a financially secure and comfortable environment. Her family background was stable, and she had access to a good lifestyle while growing up.
However, things changed when she chose to be with Jackie Shroff, who was still trying to establish himself in the film industry at that time.
Krishna shared that her mother left behind the life she was used to and moved into a Mumbai chawl where Jackie lived with his parents. The chawl lifestyle was very different from what Ayesha had experienced earlier. Krishna described this decision as a major sacrifice, saying her mother chose love and family over comfort and luxury.
Life in a Mumbai Chawl During Jackie Shroff’s Early Career
At that time, Jackie Shroff had not yet become the popular Bollywood star people know today. He was living with his parents in a modest chawl in Mumbai while trying to build his acting career.
Ayesha Shroff moved into the same home after deciding to be with him. Krishna shared that her mother continued to stay there even after Jackie’s first film Hero was released.
Later, the family moved into their first proper house, where Jackie and Ayesha eventually got married. Krishna said her mother has always been someone who puts her family before herself.

Krishna Shroff also spoke about her childhood with her parents and her brother Tiger Shroff, who is now a well-known Bollywood actor. She explained that their home life was much simpler than many people might imagine. Despite Jackie Shroff’s popularity, the family tried to keep their children away from the glamorous side of the film industry.

Krishna said she and Tiger grew up in a very close-knit family environment. Their daily life felt normal, and film sets were not a regular part of their childhood. According to her, the family bond remained strong because their household mainly revolved around four people Jackie, Ayesha, Tiger, and Krishna.
