The actor will reportedly play an ichchhadhari naag in this fantasy entertainer backed by Dharma Productions. Preity Mukhundhan Roped in as Female Lead
The biggest update around Naagzilla is the casting of the female lead. Malayalam actress Preity Mukhundhan has reportedly been finalised to star opposite Kartik Aaryan. Earlier, names like Sreeleela and Pratibha Ranta were being discussed, but the makers have now locked Preity for the role.
This marks a major Bollywood project for Preity and could become an important step in her career. Pairing her with Kartik Aaryan has already raised excitement among movie lovers who are eager to see a fresh on-screen jodi.
Preity Mukhundhan’s Growing Film Journey
Preity Mukhundhan began her acting career in 2024 with the Telugu horror-comedy Om Bheem Bush. The film helped her gain attention in the Telugu industry. She later appeared in the Telugu period drama Kannappa, which featured notable guest appearances by Mohanlal, Prabhas and Akshay Kumar.
In 2025, she entered Malayalam cinema with Maine Pyar Kiya, where she starred opposite Hridhu Haroon. Apart from films, Preity has also appeared in popular music videos, slowly building her presence across different industries. With Naagzilla, she is now stepping into mainstream Hindi cinema in a big way.
Naagzilla Release May Be Delayed
Naagzilla was earlier planned for a theatrical release around the Independence Day weekend. However, the film involves heavy visual effects and large-scale post-production work. Because of this, the release date may shift to ensure the final output meets expectations.
Fantasy films demand strong VFX to create believable visuals, and the makers seem focused on delivering quality rather than rushing the project.

Apart from Naagzilla, Kartik Aaryan has an exciting lineup ahead. He is set to collaborate again with director Kabir Khan, where he will reportedly play a kickboxing coach. He also has Captain India directed by Shimit Amin, where he plays a captain leading a major rescue mission inspired by real events.
Additionally, Kartik will be seen in Anurag Basu’s musical romance Tu Meri Zindagi Hai opposite Sreeleela. There are also talks about him exploring a mythological drama with filmmaker Nikhil Nagesh Bhat.
With Naagzilla adding a fantasy twist to his filmography, Kartik Aaryan seems ready to experiment with new genres while continuing his strong run in Bollywood.
