Tamil star Dhanush is back with a highly anticipated action thriller, Kara, starring alongside Mamitha Baiju. The makers have officially announced that the film will release in theatres on April 30, 2026. With an intense teaser already released, expectations for the movie are high among fans.
Kara Teaser Gives a Glimpse of Dhanush’s Character
The first glimpse of Kara introduces Dhanush as Karasami, also called Kara, a man caught between danger and duty. The teaser shows his character facing threats because of his profession while trying to protect his family. Packed with high-octane action, the film promises thrilling sequences and emotional moments that highlight Dhanush’s versatile acting skills.
Cast and Crew
Kara is written and directed by Vignesh Raja, known for his earlier work in Por Thozhil. Mamitha Baiju plays the female lead, while veteran actors KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, MS Baskar, and Sreeja Ravi play important supporting roles.
GV Prakash Kumar has composed the songs and background score, Theni Eswar is handling cinematography, and Sreejith Sarang is the editor. Bankrolled by Vels Film International, the film is positioned as a mass entertainer blending action and emotional drama.
Dhanush’s Upcoming Projects
Apart from Kara, Dhanush has a busy year ahead. He will star in D55, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, which is a spy action thriller featuring Mammootty, Sreeleela, and Sai Pallavi. He is also set to appear in D56, a historical political drama directed by Mari Selvaraj, which is expected to begin filming in September 2026.
