Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is back on sets, this time reuniting with Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan for the highly anticipated Kalki 2. The sequel of Naga Ashwin’s sci-fi blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD is currently being shot in Hyderabad, and the veteran actors’ reunion has created excitement among Indian cinema lovers.
Working Together After ‘Giraftar’
Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan last worked together in the 1985 film Giraftar. In a recent blog post, Bachchan shared his excitement about collaborating with Haasan again after almost four decades. He revealed that the shoot for the second part of Kalki 2898 AD has officially begun and that Kamal Haasan will now have a full-length role in the film as Supreme Yaskin.
In the first part, although both actors were present, they did not share a frame. Kamal Haasan’s character was being developed with limited screentime. Now, Kalki 2 will give audiences a chance to see the two legends together on screen in powerful sequences.
Amitabh’s Role as Ashwatthama
Amitabh Bachchan reprises his role as Ashwatthama in the sequel. The actor also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the sets in Hyderabad, giving fans a glimpse of the grandeur of the production. He expressed regret for missing his customary Sunday fan meet due to shooting schedules but promised to make it up soon. He wrote affectionately about his fans, including his little dog, and thanked them for their love and patience.
