Veteran actor Babloo Mukherjee, who is currently seen in the TV serial Gharwali Pedwali, has spoken honestly about his personal life. In a recent interview, he shared details about his early marriage, divorce, and his strained relationship with his children.
Babloo, son of late actor Keshto Mukherjee, revealed that he got married at the young age of 17. He married a woman named Lovely after his mother requested him to do so. At that time, he was still trying to understand life and relationships.
Babloo Mukherjee Admits He Could Not Give Time
Talking about his first marriage, Babloo admitted that he could not give enough time to his wife. He said that he was busy with films and television work and did not fully understand how important emotional connection and romance are in a marriage.
He shared that living in a joint family also made things difficult. His mother and brother stayed in the same house, and he felt there was very little privacy. Over time, this created distance between him and his wife.
Babloo clearly said that he now understands his mistake. He believes that a husband and wife need time together, communication, and closeness to keep a relationship strong.
Divorce And Custody Of Children
The couple had two children, a son and a daughter. After problems increased, Lovely asked for a divorce. Babloo said the separation deeply affected him, especially because he lost regular contact with his children.
He revealed that his ex-wife got custody of the children. He used to visit them on Sundays, but he claimed that he was not always allowed to meet them properly. Slowly, his connection with his children became weak.
Babloo also said that he came to know much later that his ex-wife had remarried. Over time, communication between him and his children stopped completely.
Babloo Mukherjee On His Relationship With His Kids
When asked if he is in touch with his children today, Babloo said that he recently reconnected with his ex-wife but still does not speak to his son and daughter. He shared that he requested her to let him speak to them, but she told him that they were upset with him.
He expressed confusion over the reason behind their anger. Babloo said he feels hurt that his side of the story was never heard by his children.

Second Marriage And New Chapter
After his divorce, Babloo Mukherjee married again in 1992. His second wife, Poonam, also known as Anita Carol, has been with him for many years now. He said this marriage has been stable and supportive.
Today, Babloo continues to work in television and remains active in the entertainment industry. While he accepts his past mistakes, he hopes that someday he will rebuild his bond with his children.
His honest confession shows a different side of a television actor not just as a performer, but as a father who still carries emotional pain from his past.
