Actor Amitt K Singh, known for his work in web series like Bhaukaal and Mohrey, recently spoke about his first big role in the Bollywood film Vadh 2. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he candidly discussed the challenges of working in a high-profile film alongside veteran actors Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta, and Kumud Mishra, as well as the disappointment of the film’s underwhelming box office performance.
First Big Break With Vadh 2
For Amitt, Vadh 2 represents a significant turning point in his career. He plays an investigation officer tasked with solving the murder of a convict inside a jail. While he was initially nervous about joining the project, the support from Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta helped him settle in.
“I was a little scared before I started the shoot because I was going to work with Sanjay Mishra sir. This is my first big break,” he shared. He added that conversations on the set, even on the mahurat day, helped him feel at ease. Working closely with Mishra became a learning experience, giving him confidence for the rest of the shoot.

Honest Response To Box Office Failure
Vadh 2 released in theatres on 6 February 2026 and collected only ₹3.6 crore net in India. Amitt admitted that the low numbers were disappointing. “It does hurt,” he said. “A subject like this is very unpredictable. But we know we’ve done our work very honestly.”
Despite the box office performance, he finds encouragement in the response from viewers and critics. He mentioned that audiences appreciated performances, especially those of Kumud Mishra and Neena Gupta, while acknowledging his own work for the first time. “I am really loving this moment,” he added.
Choosing Meaningful Work Over Commercial Pressure
Amitt believes that, as an actor, staying honest to his craft is more important than chasing box office success. “There are films which don’t have a thorough process, yet they do well. As an actor, I need to be honest with my work,” he explained.
He also expressed understanding for producers, noting the hard work that goes into making a film and urging audiences to support meaningful cinema. “People should definitely watch films like Vadh 2 in theatres and give them a chance,” he said.
