Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel is once again in legal trouble after a court in Moradabad issued a non-bailable warrant in a cheque bounce case. The matter is connected to a wedding event dispute that dates back to 2017. The latest development has brought the old case back into the spotlight.
What The Cheque Bounce Case Is About
The case was filed by an event organiser who claimed that Ameesha Patel was booked to perform at a wedding event in Moradabad on November 16, 2017. The organiser said an advance payment of ₹14.50 lakh was made for her appearance, and hotel arrangements were also finalised.
The complaint stated that the actress did not travel to the city for the event. After discussions between both sides, it was said that a refund was promised.
The organiser claimed that ₹10 lakh was returned in cash. However, the remaining ₹4.50 lakh was given through a cheque that allegedly bounced later. This led to the organiser approaching the court and starting legal proceedings.

Why The Court Issued A Non-Bailable Warrant
The court reportedly sent multiple summons asking Ameesha Patel to appear and present her side. Since she did not appear before the court, the judge issued a non-bailable warrant to ensure her presence in the case.
A non-bailable warrant means the court wants the person to appear without further delay so the legal process can continue.
Ameesha Patel Legal Team Responds
Ameesha Patel’s lawyer shared that the dispute is very old and had already been settled years ago. The defence maintains that the full payment was returned after an agreement between both parties.
The legal team also stated that the complaint is being misused despite the settlement. They expressed confidence that the actress will appear before the court and clarify the situation soon.
A Long-Running Legal Matter
This cheque bounce case has been ongoing for several years and is linked to events from 2017. With the new court order, the matter has once again become active. Legal cases connected to event contracts and payment disputes are not uncommon in the entertainment industry, especially when bookings and cancellations are involved.
The next step will be Ameesha Patel appearing before the court and presenting her side of the story. The legal process will continue once both parties share their arguments. For now, the focus remains on the court proceedings and how the long-running cheque bounce case moves forward.
