Prashant Narayanan Calls Kartik Aaryan a Terrible Actor, Sparks Fresh Debate In Bollywood Industry

A new controversy has started in Bollywood after actor Prashant Narayanan openly criticized Kartik Aaryan during a recent interview. Known for playing intense roles, Prashant shared strong opinions about modern actors, professionalism on film sets, and how the film industry functions today.

From Villain Fame to Strong Opinions

Prashant Narayanan became widely popular for his chilling role in the movie Murder 2. Over the years, he has worked in Hindi, Bengali and Malayalam films, earning respect for his performances.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, he spoke candidly about actors who pull pranks on set and constantly question filmmakers. According to him, such behaviour is unprofessional and often comes from insecurity rather than talent.

He said many actors focus more on appearance and image instead of performance. Some even prepare physically before shots just to look more impressive on screen. In his view, producers tolerate such behaviour only because these actors can bring box office returns.

Direct Criticism of Kartik Aaryan

During the interview, Prashant did not hesitate when asked about Kartik Aaryan. He said Kartik is “one of the most terrible actors” in the industry.

However, he also admitted that he liked Kartik in his debut film Pyaar Ka Punchnama. According to Prashant, Kartik has been lucky in his career and has strong support from people around him.

He also commented on the actor’s big box office hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Satyaprem Ki Katha, which helped bring audiences back to theatres after the pandemic. Still, Prashant questioned whether audiences truly appreciate such performances or simply enjoy the entertainment value.

He added that actors should respect audiences who spend money and time watching films and must ensure quality performances.

Comments on Film Success and Big Fees

Prashant also spoke about actors charging huge fees and working in brand endorsements and wedding performances. He suggested that success should not be taken for granted and actors should focus more on improving their craft.

He mentioned Kartik’s recent films like Chandu Champion, saying that success in the industry is unpredictable and actors must continuously prove themselves.

Not the First Controversial Statement

This is not the first time Prashant has made headlines for criticizing fellow actors. Earlier, he had spoken about Ranveer Singh and his performance as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat. He dismissed the method-acting stories shared by Ranveer and called such claims exaggerated.

These remarks had earlier created a strong reaction in the industry, and his latest comments have once again sparked discussion about talent, success, and professionalism in Bollywood.

Debate on Talent vs Stardom in Bollywood

Prashant Narayanan’s statements highlight a long-running debate in the Hindi film industry about the difference between acting talent and commercial success. While some actors gain popularity through box office hits and fan following, others believe strong acting skills should remain the main focus.

Whether people agree or disagree with his views, the conversation has once again put the spotlight on how Bollywood measures success.
