Popular Bollywood playback singer Udit Narayan is once again in the spotlight after his first wife, Ranjana, filed a serious complaint at the Women’s Police Station in Supaul, Bihar. Ranjana accused Udit, his two brothers, Sanjay Kumar Jha and Lalit Narayan Jha, and his second wife, Deepa Narayan, of being part of a criminal conspiracy. She claimed that her uterus was removed without her consent under the pretext of medical treatment.
Ranjana submitted the formal application with her advocate, Karunakant Jha. In the complaint, she identified herself as a 61-year-old woman from Supaul district and shared details about her marriage to Udit Narayan on December 7, 1984, following Hindu customs and rituals. She alleged that Udit married Deepa Narayan while still married to her and had misled her whenever she confronted him.
Alleged Surgery Without Consent
Ranjana claimed that in 1996, Udit Narayan and his brothers took her to a major hospital in Delhi for treatment, during which her uterus was removed without her knowledge. She stated that Deepa Narayan was present at the hospital during the procedure. The shocking discovery came years later during subsequent medical treatment, leaving her distressed and hurt.

She also alleged that in 2006, during a visit to Mumbai, she faced abuse from Udit and Deepa and was denied entry into their residence. Ranjana later visited her in-laws’ home in Nepal, where she claimed she was insulted and forced to leave. Since then, she has reportedly been living at her parental home.
Legal Steps and Need for Justice
Ranjana had previously approached the Family Court in Supaul and the Women’s Commission. She mentioned that Udit Narayan had accepted her as his wife and even signed a compromise agreement, but failed to honor his commitments or provide support. Feeling let down, she approached the police again, stating, “I deserve justice. Udit Narayan ji repeatedly makes promises but does not fulfill them.”

She further explained that although she submitted applications to the Women’s Commission, her complaint was only accepted after repeated follow-ups. Ranjana also mentioned that Udit visited the village recently but only made promises without taking action, leaving her in poor health and needing his support.
Police Confirm Investigation is Underway
Anju Tiwari, officer-in-charge of the Women’s Police Station, confirmed that Ranjana’s complaint has been received. She noted that the incidents date back nearly three decades. The matter is under investigation, and an FIR will be registered based on the findings. Further legal action will follow depending on the facts that emerge.
This case brings attention to serious allegations involving a well-known Bollywood singer and raises questions about personal rights, consent, and legal responsibility. The investigation is ongoing, and the next steps will be closely watched by both the public and the entertainment industry.
