Netflix’s crime thriller Kohrra 2 Review is back with its second season, and this time the story feels even more intense and emotional. Starring Mona Singh and Barun Sobti in lead roles, Kohrra 2 once again takes viewers into the foggy interiors of Punjab, where a shocking murder sets everything in motion.
The new season stays true to its gritty tone. It is dark, serious, and layered with strong emotions. But what makes it stand out is how it mixes crime with personal struggles.
A Murder That Opens Many Secrets
The story begins with the murder of Preet Bajwa, an NRI social media influencer, who is found dead at her brother’s farmhouse. As the investigation begins, more secrets start coming out. Preet had a complicated relationship with her family and husband, which adds many suspects to the case.
Soon, the investigation becomes more complex when four migrant workers are found burnt to death in a poultry farm. They were victims of bonded labour, and this shocking detail connects the murder to bigger social issues.
The show does not rush through the mystery. Instead, it slowly builds tension, keeping viewers guessing about who is responsible and why.
Mona Singh As Dhanwant Kaur Is The Emotional Core
Mona Singh plays Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur, a strong yet deeply broken woman. She is still struggling with the loss of her son, who died in a road accident. Her pain is visible in her silent moments, especially when she waits at a bus stop, holding on to memories of the past.

What makes her character powerful is that she is not shown as a perfect officer or a perfect mother. She is flawed, tired, and emotionally heavy. Her troubled relationship with her alcoholic husband adds another layer to her character. Mona Singh delivers one of her most mature performances, showing strength and vulnerability together.
Barun Sobti Brings Depth To Garundi
Barun Sobti returns as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi. In this season, he tries to move on from his past and build a peaceful life with his wife, Silky. However, his guilt over a past relationship continues to trouble him.
Garundi’s journey is about facing mistakes and accepting responsibility. Barun plays this role with quiet intensity. His expressions often speak louder than his dialogue, especially in emotional scenes at home.
The partnership between Garundi and Dhanwant slowly grows stronger. At first, there is hesitation and ego, but over time they begin to respect and support each other.
Kohrra 2 Review: More Than Just A Crime Drama
Kohrra 2 is not just about solving a murder. It touches on serious topics like bonded labour, discrimination, patriarchy, and the emotional scars left by Punjab’s troubled past. The show presents police officers as normal people with messy personal lives, not larger-than-life heroes.
The six-episode season keeps the storytelling tight and engaging. It ends on a hopeful note while still staying true to its realistic tone.
If you enjoy crime dramas that focus on emotions as much as mystery, Kohrra 2 is worth watching. Mona Singh and Barun Sobti make this season gripping, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
