Nelson Dilipkumar’s Busy Line-Up After Jailer 2
Nelson is presently focused on completing Jailer 2, which stars Rajinikanth once again as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel will continue the story from the first film and is being mounted on a grand scale. Several well-known actors are returning, making it one of the most awaited Tamil films of 2026.
Once Jailer 2 wraps up, Nelson is expected to move on to his next directorial venture. This is where talk of a Telugu debut comes in, with Jr NTR being mentioned as the leading man.

There is growing curiosity around Nelson possibly directing a Telugu film with Jr NTR before taking up his next Tamil project. Jailer 2 will bring back several familiar faces. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are set to reprise their roles, while Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty will play important parts. Mithun Chakraborty had earlier hinted at a possible cameo by Shah Rukh Khan, though the makers have not confirmed this.
The film is aiming for a mid-2026 release, though the final date is yet to be announced. A special dance number featuring Nora Fatehi is also expected to be part of the film.
Jr NTR’s Current and Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Jr NTR is currently filming NTRNeel, directed by Prashanth Neel. The action-heavy film is scheduled to release on June 25, 2026. The cast is said to include Rukmini Vasanth and Tovino Thomas in key roles.
