Netflix India has officially unveiled its 2026 content slate, and it is one of its most ambitious line-ups so far. The announcement was made at the “Next on Netflix” event held in Mumbai, where several leading actors, creators, and filmmakers came together to present what audiences can expect in the coming year. The focus remains clearly on Indian stories, big stars, and a strong mix of films, web series, and reality shows.
Star power dominates Netflix’s 2026 plans
The upcoming slate brings together some of the biggest names in Indian cinema and streaming. Sunny Deol, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, R Madhavan, Manoj Bajpayee, Taapsee Pannu, Rajkummar Rao, and Parineeti Chopra are all part of Netflix’s 2026 offerings. The platform is betting big on well-known faces while also backing strong storytelling across genres like drama, thrillers, comedy, romance, and crime.
Major film releases to watch out for
One of the biggest film announcements is Ikka, a courtroom drama starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna. The film promises an intense legal battle driven by personal history and emotional conflict. Another key title is Hum Hindustani, featuring Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi, which explores India’s first election after independence.
Netflix is also bringing back its popular anthology with Lust Stories 3, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj. Films like Ghooskhor Pandat with Manoj Bajpayee, Maa Behen starring Madhuri Dixit, and Gandhari led by Taapsee Pannu further strengthen the slate.
Other notable films include Accused, Kartavya, Toaster, Takshakudu, and Made in Korea, showing Netflix’s push across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and multi-language storytelling.

Vikrant Massey leads the romantic drama Musafir Cafe, while Bhuvan Bam returns with Dhindora 2, now moving from YouTube to Netflix.
Popular shows like Mismatched are set to return for their final season, while courtroom comedy Maamla Legal Hai is also coming back with a new chapter.
Reality and non-fiction get a boost
Netflix is also expanding its non-fiction and reality offerings. The Great Indian Kapil Show returns with a new season, continuing its comedy-driven conversations. Ekta Kapoor’s reality show Lock Upp will bring drama and controversy, while Desi Bling focuses on the lives of wealthy Indian expats.
With this 2026 slate, Netflix India is clearly aiming to cater to a wide audience, blending star-led projects with fresh ideas. The platform is focusing on emotionally driven stories, strong characters, and diverse genres, making its intent clear Indian stories, told at scale, remain its top priority for the future.
