Bollywood and TV star Rakhi Sawant was recently spotted in Mumbai following the tragic plane crash that took the life of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on January 28, 2026. The crash, which occurred at Baramati Airport, also claimed the lives of two pilots, Pawar’s personal security officer, and a flight attendant.
Rakhi, known for her outspoken nature, addressed the media while in Mumbai. She said she came to pay her respects to Ajit Pawar and expressed her sorrow over his passing. In her own words, she called the incident a “shadyantra” or conspiracy.
Rakhi’s Emotional Statement
Rakhi Sawant said, “Ajit dada ke liye main shraddhanjali dene aayi hoon. Bohot zyada dukh hua hai. Lekin koi kuch bhi bole, shadyantra hai. Woh humare favourite neta the. Yeh ek shadyantra hai.”
This emotional statement shows her deep admiration for Ajit Pawar and highlights her strong reaction to the political leader’s sudden death. She has called it more than just an accident, labelling it a conspiracy in front of the cameras.
Ajit Pawar’s Funeral
Ajit Pawar was cremated in his hometown, Baramati, Pune district, with full state honours. The ceremony took place at the Vidya Pratishthan College ground on January 30, 2026. His funeral was attended by prominent political leaders, party members, and thousands of supporters. Pawar’s family, including his wife Sunetra and sons Parth and Jay, were present, along with his uncle and senior politician Sharad Pawar.

Thousands of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supporters gathered to pay tribute to the late leader. The funeral procession began early in the morning and concluded at the Vidya Pratishthan ground, reflecting the respect and influence Pawar held in Maharashtra politics.

Rakhi’s statement has drawn attention because she openly called the plane crash a conspiracy.
