Malaysian actor Gavin Teo recently shared an emotional experience while filming his upcoming drama See You At 11pm. The supernatural romance-fantasy series is a Singapore-Taiwan co-production and tells the story of a student who can see spirits. Gavin plays Yang Zhenghao, an 18-year-old high school student who is loyal, caring, and deeply affected by the loss of his mother.
Gavin Teo Fulfills Late Mother’s Wish in New Drama
During filming in Taiwan in 2025, Gavin had to act in a very emotional scene. In this scene, Zhenghao’s father is in a coma, and both enter a dream where Zhenghao meets his late mother. Gavin revealed that this moment reminded him of his own mother, who passed away in 2021. He said, “I really wanted to dream of her, so this was a really good opportunity to fulfil a long-time wish.” He added that he cried heavily during the scene, which took about one and a half hours to complete over two or three takes.
The filming took place in an abandoned school building, which added to the spooky, supernatural feel. Gavin shared that the production team took safety seriously. Monks and priests were brought in to bless the area before sensitive scenes, ensuring nothing unusual would disturb the shoot. Despite the eerie setting, Gavin said nothing strange happened during filming.
Gavin also spoke about the challenges of adapting to the Taiwanese accent. He spent time interacting with local actors and people to get comfortable with their way of speaking. He also bonded with his co-stars, taking part in script readings, acting classes, and team activities. A memorable moment for him was when a Taiwanese colleague took him and others on a trip to Yilan for surfing, creating a warm and friendly environment on set.

The drama stars Taiwanese actors Liu Hsiu-fu and Chloe Xiang, as well as local actors Hong Ling, Mark Lee, James Seah, and Jernelle Oh. Gavin said he also acted as a tour guide for the Taiwanese actors when they filmed in Singapore. Fans can look forward to See You At 11pm, which promises touching emotional moments and a mix of supernatural fantasy and heartfelt storytelling.
