Actor and podcast host Dax Shepard recently opened up about a personal parenting moment involving his daughter Delta, who is only 11 years old. On an episode of his popular podcast Armchair Expert, Shepard shared that Delta has already talked about wanting to become a mother someday. As a supportive parent, he said he wants to encourage her dreams without making her feel judged or pressured in any way.
Dax Shepard Supports Daughter’s Future with Egg Freezing
Dax explained that during one of their conversations, he asked Delta when she thought she might want to have her first child. At first, she joked about being 18, and later said she might want to become a mom in her mid-20s. Dax responded by guessing that many people choose to have children later in life, usually between the ages of 35 and 45. He wanted to help her understand that there are many options and no single “right” timeline.
During the discussion, Dax mentioned the idea of freezing eggs when Delta turns 18. He said he would be willing to pay for it so she would not feel stressed about future choices. He also made it clear that this suggestion was not meant to push her in any direction. Instead, he wanted to show that he supports her future, whatever path she chooses. Dax also admitted that this kind of support comes with a lot of privilege, which not everyone has.
Dax Shepard shares two daughters, Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11, with his wife, actress Kristen Bell. The couple is known for being open about their parenting style and having honest conversations with their children. In a previous podcast episode, Dax shared a moment where Delta questioned why pregnancy was considered “nasty,” showing her natural curiosity and thoughtful way of thinking.
Both Dax and Kristen have sometimes received public reactions for sharing parenting stories, but they continue to focus on openness and communication. Dax’s comments about Delta highlight his goal as a parent: to listen, support, and guide without judgment. His story shows how honest conversations can help children feel safe sharing their dreams, even when those dreams are far in the future.
