Mandopop star Jolin Tsai recently finished her big PLEASURE concert in Taipei, which featured amazing stage props, including a giant bull and serpent. The show was visually striking and quickly went viral online. However, controversy followed when edited clips of the concert started circulating with captions claiming the performance had “improper metaphors” and references to religion or “cult-like” ideas.
Jolin Tsai Concert Sparks Lawsuit Over Cult Claims
The concert organizers, working with Jolin Tsai, responded strongly to these claims. They specifically named Douyin influencer Celia Liang, also known as Silia, who had accused the concert of containing Illuminati and Satanic messages. The team said that Liang had spread false information and encouraged personal attacks against Jolin Tsai. They decided to take legal action, a rare step in Tsai’s long 26-year career, as she usually does not publicly respond to critics. Many fans supported her decision, praising her for standing up against what they see as targeted attacks.
Celia Liang, a former contestant on the Taiwanese talent show One Million Star, responded to the lawsuit with a new video titled “Jolin Tsai Is Suing Me?” In it, Liang claimed that her videos were meant for entertainment only. She said she was not the first person to interpret Tsai’s work in this way and argued that the concert’s “human paradise” theme and the album’s “seven deadly sins” concept are based on Western religious ideas. Liang also wrote in her video caption that she felt honored to be the first person Jolin Tsai is suing.
Liang also mentioned that her original video had been removed because it was reported by someone with the surname Cai. She continued to defend her content, saying it was intended to be fun and analytical rather than harmful. The situation sparked heated discussions online, with some people agreeing with Liang’s critique and others supporting Jolin Tsai and criticizing the influencer’s claims.

Despite the controversy, Jolin Tsai’s upcoming mainland China tour is going ahead as planned. The legal case does not appear to have affected the tour schedule, and authorities have not raised any objections. Fans are looking forward to the shows, and the singer’s management continues to emphasize that the concert is purely an artistic performance with no hidden messages.
