Former NFL player Matt Kalil has filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife, model and influencer Haley Kalil, after comments she made online went viral. The case has drawn wide public attention because it involves personal remarks shared during a live-streamed conversation. Matt says these statements crossed a serious line and caused harm to his private life, even though he has stayed away from the spotlight since retiring from professional football.
Matt Kalil Sues Haley Kalil Over Viral Comments
According to court documents, the issue began when Haley appeared on a popular online stream in late 2025. During the discussion, she made comments about very private matters related to their marriage and divorce. Matt claims these remarks suggested intimate details that should never have been shared publicly. He says the comments quickly spread across social media, turning his personal life into public discussion and unwanted jokes.
Matt argues that the viral clip led to ongoing stress for him and his family. He says strangers began making invasive comments, and his relatives were forced to see deeply personal statements repeated online. The lawsuit also mentions that Matt’s new wife received disturbing messages after the clip gained popularity. He believes this attention has caused emotional harm and disrupted his efforts to live a quiet, private life after football.
In response, Haley Kalil told media outlets she was shocked and hurt by the lawsuit. She said legal action is emotionally exhausting and painful for everyone involved, including their families. While she did not directly address the specific remarks, she pointed out that during the same conversation she spoke positively about Matt several times and even praised him as a good person.

Through the lawsuit, Matt Kalil is seeking damages of more than $75,000 and has requested a jury trial. He claims invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment, stating that Haley benefited financially from the increased attention and online traffic. The case highlights growing concerns about privacy in the age of social media, especially when personal relationships become public content without consent.
