South Korean entertainment agency Ador has officially ended its contract with Danielle, a member of the popular K-pop girl group NewJeans. The announcement comes after a long and complicated dispute between the agency and the group. Ador stated that it would be difficult for Danielle to continue as both a member of NewJeans and an artist under Ador, leading to the termination of her contract.

The agency also revealed that it plans to take legal action against Danielle’s family and former Ador CEO Min Hee-jin. Ador claims both parties are responsible for the conflict and the delayed return of all NewJeans members to the agency. They added that they want to clarify misunderstandings in order to restore fan support and public trust in the group.

Meanwhile, other NewJeans members are handling their situations differently. Vietnamese-Australian member Hanni has returned to Ador after discussions with the agency, respecting the court’s previous ruling. However, discussions with member Minji are still ongoing. Ador confirmed that it continues to negotiate with her to reach a mutual understanding.
The conflict between NewJeans and Ador started in April 2024 when Hybe announced an audit of the agency and asked for the resignation of CEO Hee-jin. She denied any wrongdoing but claimed that Hybe was trying to control the agency and copy NewJeans’ style for another group. The situation escalated, leading to the termination of contracts, court cases, and fines for unauthorized activities.

NewJeans debuted in 2022 and quickly became a successful K-pop group. They won the “Group of the Year” award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards, becoming the first female K-pop group to earn this honor. Despite Danielle’s departure, fans continue to support the remaining members, and the agency is working to rebuild trust and move forward with the group.
