Singaporean actor Charlie Goh recently gave fans a peek into his childhood home, which he has renovated and now rents from his parents at a “son’s price.” The 37-year-old actor shared the details of his home makeover during an episode of Mediacorp’s show Kaypoh Room Tours. He revealed that the total cost of renovation was around $120,000, not including furniture and appliances.
Charlie Goh Renovates Condo, Rents from Parents
Charlie chose a Japandi interior design for his three-bedroom condo, combining Japanese simplicity with Scandinavian comfort. The renovation took about three months to complete. During the tour, he showed his favorite feature, a recliner sofa in the living room, which opens to the balcony and dining area where he often works. Charlie also shared his creative solution for the kitchen’s rubbish chute, hiding it behind an art frame to keep the space neat and prevent pests.

The actor highlighted the guestroom, which is still under progress, as a space for family and friends to hang out. He mentioned that a bed will only be added if they have children, otherwise the room will serve as a mahjong or social area. Another smaller room is dedicated to his wife’s wardrobe, complete with a massage chair that Charlie uses to relax. His master bedroom features a recliner bed and projector system, which he says makes watching videos before sleep much more comfortable.
Charlie Goh explained that his biggest challenge during the renovation was time management. He needed to move in by a certain date to avoid being without a home, as he had sold his HDB flat and bought another property. Despite the tight schedule, he enjoyed the process and credited his interior designer for helping him complete the project efficiently while keeping the home stylish and functional.

Beyond acting, Charlie has also pursued a career as a real estate agent, combining his passion for property with his entertainment work. He stated that acting remains his hobby and passion, while real estate is his main job. Charlie’s renovation shows his practical and creative approach to home design, making his childhood condo both personal and modern.
