Veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui passed away in late October 2025. His family, including his widow Angeli Lung and daughter Charmaine Hui, returned to Singapore to manage the funeral and related arrangements. Hui was a respected actor with a long career in film and television, and his sudden death brought shock and sadness to fans and colleagues alike.
Benz Hui’s Death Caused by Cancer, Organ Failure
According to his widow, Benz Hui had a tumour removed last year and was recovering well. He followed doctors’ advice, taking prescribed medication and attending follow-up appointments regularly. His family initially hoped he would continue to recover and live a healthy life. Unfortunately, his health took a sudden turn in mid-October this year.
Hui was admitted to the hospital after feeling unwell. Doctors discovered that cancer cells had spread rapidly to his lungs. At the same time, he was fighting a bacterial infection, which led to multiple organ failure. Despite medical efforts, Benz Hui passed away after two days in critical condition. His widow shared that he left no final words.
Charmaine Hui, his daughter, expressed that she is still struggling to accept her father’s death. She said that even in daily life, she instinctively leaves space for him in photos and moments, showing how deeply she misses him. The family also expressed disappointment about leaks regarding the funeral, feeling that their privacy was not respected. Charmaine noted that even Hui’s stepson, who prefers to stay private, was upset by the public disclosure of the eulogy.
