Following a friend’s advice, Lin hired a pest-control company to spray her house. That night, her housekeeper discovered the kitchen floor covered in tiny black dots. After two to three more treatments, the infestation was brought under control, giving her some relief.
Even after leaving Hong Kong for a holiday in Hangzhou, Lin encountered another cockroach. She tried to act but a friend trapped it in a paper cup and released it outside. Lin admitted feeling conflicted because cockroaches reproduce quickly and can be harmful, but she also acknowledged that sometimes a gentle approach is possible. She joked that if she sees another one, she might not be able to hold back.
