Is Skeet Ulrich in Scream 7? Original Scream Killer Confirms He’s Not Involved in Film

Fans of the Scream franchise have been buzzing with excitement about Scream 7, which is set to release in early 2026. With original writer Kevin Williamson returning as director and many familiar faces coming back, the movie is shaping up to be a major reunion. However, one big question has been whether Skeet Ulrich, who played the original killer Billy Loomis, would return once again. Ulrich has now confirmed that he is not part of the upcoming film.

Skeet Ulrich Confirms He Won’t Appear in Scream 7

In a recent interview, Skeet Ulrich openly shared that he has no involvement in Scream 7. While he won’t be appearing on screen, he said he is still very excited about the project. Ulrich praised Kevin Williamson for leading the film and said he is curious to see what direction the story takes. He also mentioned that this time he will be watching the movie like everyone else, without knowing any secrets beforehand.

Ulrich explained that he was originally connected to an earlier version of Scream 7, which was later scrapped. In the previous plan, his character Billy Loomis was meant to appear as part of a multi-movie storyline. Billy was shown as a vision inside the mind of Sam Carpenter, played by Melissa Barrera. That storyline was supposed to continue into the seventh film, but everything changed after Barrera was removed from the project, causing the story to be reworked.

Because of these changes, Ulrich says he no longer knows anything about the current plot. He admitted he has no idea how some characters, including Matthew Lillard’s, are returning to the story. Rather than being frustrated, Ulrich said this actually makes him more excited, as he looks forward to watching the movie without knowing what will happen next.

Scream 7 is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026. The story will focus on Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, who is forced to face her past once again when a new Ghostface killer targets her daughter. As the danger grows, Sidney must protect her family and finally confront the horror that has followed her for years. Even without Skeet Ulrich, the film promises suspense, nostalgia, and plenty of scares for longtime fans.
