Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung appeared at the High Court on December 5, 2025, as a civil case against her began. The lawsuit was filed by her former manager Yu Yuk-hing and AEG Entertainment Group Limited. The case involves alleged breaches of contract and unpaid obligations related to her film and management agreements.

The plaintiffs claim that Cecilia Cheung received advance payments totaling HK$41.76 million but did not fulfill her commitments. According to the legal documents, Cheung and Yu signed an eight-year Global Exclusive Management Agreement in July 2011. Under this agreement, Cheung was given HK$40 million as an advance to star in four specific films. In May 2012, the parties signed an additional agreement for two more films, with a further advance of HK$2.76 million.

Yu and AEG allege that Cecilia Cheung failed to complete the agreed film projects and also breached the management contract. They claim this caused significant financial loss. The plaintiffs are seeking at least HK$12.76 million in damages and have requested that Cheung provide full disclosure of her income accounts from May 2015 to July 2019.
Cheung arrived at the court in a seven-seater vehicle, accompanied by two men and two women. She took an oath in the Christian form and gave her testimony in Cantonese. The hearing marks the beginning of what could be a lengthy legal process as both sides present evidence and arguments regarding the alleged breaches.
