Hong Kong actress Candy Yuen spoke openly about long-standing rumors regarding her personal life during her appearance on ViuTV’s late-night show Talker Club MURMUR on December 1. The program, designed for women to discuss social, economic, and relationship challenges, gave Yuen a platform to clarify misunderstandings. During the interview, host Yu Diwei complimented Yuen on her natural appearance, especially her teeth. Yuen explained that she has not undergone cosmetic procedures because of a low pain tolerance and claimed that her figure has remained natural since her Miss Hong Kong days. She humorously shared that industry veterans, including Sandra Ng and Joe Chow, could vouch for her appearance. Yuen also recalled being nicknamed “Big-bust Candy” early in her career because of her curvy figure.

Yuen discussed how her public image has often been misunderstood. She described a past experience when she bought Christmas gifts and met reporters individually, only to be misrepresented by the media as someone who enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle with wine and cigars. On romance, she noted that she had gone eight years without being pursued by men, which made her feel she had little to lose when she took on sensual film roles.
The actress also reflected on her work in Category III films, particularly The Gigolo, where she performed fully nude. She said her decision was based on trust in the director and her belief that natural bodies should not be stigmatized. However, she admitted that some scenes exceeded the original script, leading to typecasting and even PTSD from challenging experiences. She later turned down scripts that made her uncomfortable, prioritizing her family and personal boundaries.

Candy Yuen shared that rumors of her being “kept” started after these films. She moved to the Mid-Levels for privacy, but the area’s high cost fueled speculation about her wealth. She recounted a dinner where a date unexpectedly brought his employer, expecting her to entertain him, and mentioned that several wealthy families had offered her financial support, which she declined. Through her candid conversation, Yuen hopes to set the record straight and show that her life choices are guided by her own principles, not by outside influence.
