Whitney Leavitt Opens Up After DWTS Elimination
Whitney began by explaining that being eliminated in the semifinals felt like a “roller coaster of emotions.” She was grateful for the journey but also sad that it ended sooner than she hoped. The criticism she received throughout the season made her time on the show even more challenging. Many viewers judged her because she studied modern dance at Brigham Young University, even though ballroom dancing was completely new to her. Whitney said she expected some negativity because she was often seen as a “villain” on Mormon Wives, but she admitted it was still painful to watch Mark receive hateful comments online.
Mark also spoke about the harsh messages he received, calling them “relentless.” Whitney said the hardest part was seeing someone she cared about being attacked when he did nothing wrong. She sometimes felt guilty and wondered if their backlash happened because of her reality-show reputation. Both of them noticed that the negativity increased around week five, which made the competition emotionally exhausting. Even the return of Mormon Wives season 3 during their time on DWTS might have influenced how viewers voted.
Despite the challenges, Whitney insisted she learned to stay strong and not let harsh comments control her emotions. She also reminded fans that eliminations on DWTS aren’t always predictable sometimes the voting simply goes in unexpected directions. Mark agreed, saying that with such a talented cast, anything can happen. Whitney also confirmed that she will be back for season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, keeping her connection to reality TV alive.
