The 39-year-old star appears in Three Wisest Men, the third movie in Hallmark’s popular Three Wise Men trilogy, which premieres on November 15. During a Facebook Live chat with PEOPLE, Hynes spoke about unforgettable gifts and memories alongside his costars Andrew Walker and Margaret Colin.

Tyler Hynes shared that he grew up wanting a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe car, but his most treasured gift came much later in life. He recently joined thousands of fans and more than a dozen Hallmark stars on the Hallmark Christmas Cruise. This cruise experience became extra special because he was able to share it with his mother, Betty Hynes, whose birthday falls the night before Christmas. Hynes said his mother loves going on cruises, and spending two straight years on the Hallmark Christmas Cruise together has now become a cherished family tradition.

He described a touching moment from their latest trip. On the final night, while having dinner together, he asked his mother about her favorite part of the cruise. She assumed it was another “recap moment,” hinting that she enjoys reflecting with him. Hynes explained that being able to spend time with his mom doing something she loves while also celebrating Hallmark movies, meeting fans, and being surrounded by friends felt like the greatest gift of his life.
The actor also expressed excitement about returning for the third movie in the Wise Men franchise. He said viewers have grown close to the Brenner family, and the filmmakers worked hard to create a story that feels fresh but still comforting. Hynes added that he loves reuniting with his castmates, describing the experience as a chance to “run amok” with friends.
