K-pop boy band Newbeat is gaining attention with their new English mini-album, Louder Than Ever. The seven-member group – Minseok, Minsung, Yeoyeojeong, Seohyun, Taeyang, Yunhoo, and Riwoo – said the album represents their global ambitions. “It’s our way of saying we’re ready for the world,” said leader Minseok. The group became known earlier this year for their debut Raw and Rad, and now they are back with fresh energy.
K-pop Newbeat Talks About English Album Louder Than Ever
The new album features four tracks and two title songs, Look So Good and Loud. Both songs share the message of “loving yourself loudly.” Look So Good brings back early-2000s pop and R&B vibes, while Loud mixes rock and hyperpop for a bold sound. Minseok explained that the group wanted to show both smooth retro style and strong modern energy. International producers like Neil Ormandy, who has worked with Aespa, and Candace Sosa, a BTS collaborator, also contributed to the album.
Creating a full English album was not easy for the group. “Even before debut, we performed overseas, so English felt natural,” Yeoyeojeong said. Still, recording in English was challenging. Riwoo shared that he practiced pronunciation for hours, while Minsung admitted he sometimes struggled to understand producers’ feedback. Luckily, Yunhoo, who speaks English fluently, helped the team communicate better during recording. Despite language barriers, Newbeat focused on connecting with fans around the world.

Since debuting in March, Newbeat has performed at major events, including KCON, Lovesome Festival, and even an F1 Grand Prix show. The members said each performance helped them grow as artists. They also talked about their close bond, built during their trainee days when they performed on the streets and shared late-night talks. “Those days taught us teamwork and endurance,” said Yeoyeojeong. They continue to hold daily meetings called jongrye, where they share feedback and laughter.

Looking ahead, Newbeat plans to attend university festivals in Japan, host fan events, and release a Chinese version of their song Cappuccino. They are also preparing for a North American tour. “We want to become our own genre,” Yeoyeojeong said. Leader Minseok added, “Our goal is to stay healthy and happy because if we’re not, none of it matters. We hope our fans do the same.”
