Diljit Dosanjh reveals private jet cost in India
Many people confuse private jets with chartered flights, but there’s a small difference. A private jet is usually a small aircraft that seats between 4 to 18 passengers. It can be owned by an individual or rented for a trip. A chartered flight, on the other hand, refers to any rented aircraft from small jets to large planes that is booked for a specific journey. In India, companies offer everything from small single-engine planes to long-range luxury jets.

The cost of hiring a private jet depends on several factors, such as the aircraft type, distance, and extra services like catering, Wi-Fi, or overnight parking. A small turboprop plane like the King Air C90 costs around ₹1.5–₹2 lakh per hour. Light jets such as Citation Mustang or CJ2 cost ₹2.5–₹4 lakh per hour, while midsize jets like the Hawker 900XP may cost ₹4–₹7 lakh per hour. For long international trips, heavy jets such as the Gulfstream G550 or Global 6000 can cost ₹6–₹12 lakh per hour.
Short domestic trips can also be expensive. For example, flying from Delhi to Jaipur may cost around ₹5–₹7 lakh one-way, while a quick Mumbai-to-Goa getaway could range between ₹6–₹10 lakh. But if you’re planning to travel from Mumbai to London on a heavy jet, the price can easily cross ₹1.5 crore, excluding taxes and other charges.
