The much-loved actor R Madhavan is all set to play the role of Indian inventor and engineer GD Naidu in his upcoming biopic titled G.D.N. The makers of the film recently revealed the first look of Madhavan, and fans are amazed by his transformation into the legendary figure known as the “Edison of India.”
R Madhavan Transforms into Inventor GD Naidu
In the motion poster, Madhavan appears as an elderly GD Naidu, bald-headed and deeply focused while soldering metal in his workshop. The visuals capture the spirit of a passionate engineer who dedicated his life to innovation and progress. GD Naidu, often called India’s first industrialist and inventor, made several contributions to the fields of electricity, transport, and machinery.

The film G.D.N. is directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and features an impressive supporting cast including Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Thambi Ramaiah, and Vinay Rai. Reports also suggest that comedian Yogi Babu might appear in the film, though this has not been officially confirmed yet.
The movie’s music is composed by Govind Vasantha, while cinematography is handled by Aravind Kamalanathan. It is produced by Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan under Varghese Moolan Pictures, in collaboration with R Madhavan and Sarita Madhavan’s Tricolour Films. Interestingly, the same production houses earlier worked together on Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, another acclaimed biopic directed by and starring Madhavan. That film won the National Award for Best Feature Film in 2022.
